» Write a review of Brisbane City
I call it home and LOVE it!
Everything you could need is within an hour of Brisbane.
Sunshine Caost and it\'s beautiful beaches and Australia Zoo. Gold Coast and it\'s amazing night life, theme parks, hinterlands and adrenalin junkie sports. Mountain towns of Toowoomba, Maleny and Montville.
Within the city you have Southbank and it\'s artificial beach, restaurants, pubs, eateries, parks and entertainment. Treasury Casino, Queen Street Mall, Botanical Gardens, Myer Centre and a host of restaurants, shops and clubs.
Mt Cootha\'s a 15 minute drive away to magnificent views of the city and fantastic dining experience.
Come to Brisbane, we\'ll look after you! xxoo
The best thing about Brisbane are the genuine, friendly people and the laidback atmosphere. The climate is dry and hot - very steamy in summer!
My home for 9 years, Brisbane will always be close to my heart and I will always love its laid back nature
Nice laid back city with a great climate and some great pubs and restaurants - try Cha Cha Char on Eagles Wharf Restaurant II opposite the Stamford Plaza
I like to think of Brisbane as the smaller version of Sydney but with a warmer weather. I like the Bay area there, it is perfect for sailing.
My home town. I LOVE IT. We\'re still a big country town but we\'ve grown up a lot since Expo 88 and have something to offer just about anybody. Mt Cootha gives a birdseye view of the city and has a fantastic restaurant. Southbank does the city proud with its parklands, restaurants and constant activities and entertainment. The Treasury Casino attracts big rollers. The Queen Stree Mall isthe hub of our town and it\'s laden with shops galore. Forty-five minutes from the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, it\'s in the perfect position. Come visit us sometime, You\'ll love it up here :)
Brisbane is a small city in a big captial. Great to shop, eat, and just visit.
Been to Brisbane only once or twice. Not my favourite city in Australia. Pretty boring compared to Sydney or Melbourne.
Brisbane has a great holiday vibe. Don\'t miss the museum and gallery - both great collections. I recommend staying in southbank for proximity to the city and the gardens, without being in the CBD surrounded by offices!
Loved Southbank, what a fantastic place! The markets are great and the man made beach is cool. Liked the Eternal Flame too.
Lively relaxed city, with numerous activites and dining along the Brisbane river. Southbank is a nice manmade spot with a beach and walkway and other family activites and cinema
Loved the laid back style, the tropicality and the beach front river in the city centre with access via boat to the Queensland Art Gallery. Lots of interesting places to eat and drink along the river.
I went here for expo 88. I have been back to Brisbane many times since. It is a lovely city. Not as cosmopolitan as Melbourne or Sydney; and much more laid back. The weather here is always nice too
Quite liked the city of Brisbane, as the pace seems a little more relaxed than Sydney. The shops in the CBD provided more variety at more reasonable prices.
Brisbane is a great city, with the buzz of a much bigger place but without the rudness so often associated - the geography can be a bit confusing though!
Can\'t say I am a big fan of Brisbane as a city. It isn\'t exactly known for culture or exquisite coffee or cuisine. But it is nice for a wander along the river and development there. It is central to both the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Temperate days, laid back city, a cruise on the river, cuddle a koala at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
Nice city and nice people. Head to the south bank for some great restuarants.
Great city of Queensland, friendly and the weather is perfect!
Brisbane used to be a bit boring but has spruced its act with new museums, gardens and the rivercat ferry.
Brisbane is a gateway to Sunshine Coast (north) and the Gold Coast (south). Quiet but booming really fast. The city itself may be contained to Queen St Mall, Eagle St Pier, and South Bank for the tourists. For the locals, it\'s just all easy and laid back - not like the smoke, just the way they like it.
Great city, gateway to Surfers or Noosa. I have friends here which makes it easier to get around. But prefer to fly in and travel north or south to the beaches.
Great all year round, apart from the normal tourist attractions, take a trip to Clevland and check out the waterways. The Sunday markets at Southbank are also quite nice.
I loved the parks along the river and the lagoon...
Not as busy as Sydney but closer to Surfers Paradise. I loved the fact that you can buy jugs of beer. I never new that until I went up there.
The highlight of all of my trips to Brisbane was definitely expo 88. Since then, many of my trips have been for work, and since the best waterfront restaurants are a fair way from the city in southbank, it is not very conducive to a good work trip. But for leisure travel, Brisbane is great.
