Cannot say a negative word about our stay on the Gold Coast!! Weather was great, even experienced one of the best thunderstorms I\'ve ever seen in the Tamborine Mountains but other days were fine & sunny. Huge array of things to see & do. People seemed more relaxed - I never saw tail-gating or beeping or road rage once on the highways. Great eateries for all budgets & palates too. Will be going back for sure.

I stayed at Kirra Beach away from the more commercial/tourist area of Surfers Paradise. Beautiful beach, close to Gold Coast Airport and walking distance to Coolangatta and Tweed Heads. We stayed at Kirra Beach Apartments which was just across from the beach.

Fortytwo kms of golden, clean beaches from Southport to Coolongatta, the Gold Coast caters for all tastes and pockets- beaches, nightlife, shopping and restaurants would satisfy most people. The hinterland with 7 national parks offers a sub tropical contrast to the beaches. Lots for kids to do with Dream and Sea World and of course Wet and Wild.

It has it all, beach holiday great cocktails restaurants and if you want to act like a kid the theme parks are there. I just always find it funny when the beach is covered in shade by the high rises.

One of my favourite places to go. Came here for the Indy Carnival last year. It was one of the best holidays I\'ve had. Got really cheap accommodation, considering it was a peak time of the year. So much to see and do. A real party atmosphere at night. Theme parks are great for a day out. can easily spend a lot of money here. Great to get away from Sydney. Everyone is soooo friendly.

Love the atmosphere of the whole place. Theme parks are a big hit with the kids and the shopping is great. Traffic isnt the fastest flowing but still quite easy to make your way around.

Never been to Qld before, and we loved it! Great place to take the kids, we stayed in a beautiful apartment right in the centre of Surfer\'s with all amenities, even a shopping mall at the bottom of the complex. The theme parks are fantastic, I thought there might not be too much for my 2 year old, but they cater for all ages. Dreamworld was the best by far, you need 2 days to do everything. Movie World was great, Sea World was very crowded for the show, the kids loved Wet n Wild (waterpark play in winter!) and we even drove to Australia Zoo - fantastic place, I highly recommend it.

The Gold Coast is fun for a few days. Lots of entertainment for families. I love Universal Studios and Seaworld. Accommodation is cheap by world standards. Shopping is fun. Good for a short, warm break, as long as I don\'t have to live there.

Not my cup of tea. I guess Coolangatta was the best of the suburbs along the strip and Surfers is just way too touristy ond built up. Unless you like gambling (there\'s a big casino) or theme parks, avoid it!

I\'ll never forget the ultimate riding experience on a Harley Davidson. It was a long tour, and I enjoyed almost every bend in the road travelling into the hinterland in the beautiful Gold Coast.

GC is a venue of various tastes from the busy and hectic Surfers Paradise to the more chilled places down south such as Burleigh Heads and even Coolangatta. I think it\'s actually a great place to take the family with the 3 Worlds here - Sea /Dream/Movie and don\'t forget Wet n\' Wild

Overrated as a tourist spot for South East Queensland, where all the theme parks are nearby. Notably, Surfers Paradise is the tourist centre. There are other parts of the Gold Coast that are quieter with the beauty of the long sandy beaches.

Who can pass up the thrills of the fun parks! Movieworld was my favourite with the Lethal Weapon rollarcoaster.

Overrated but yes, it sure has its charm with the ocean-view apartments, now Q1 highest residential (in the world?), the theme parks, and the endless beaches of fine white sand. Very commercialised but at least it keeps you busy. Shopping is a good idea too - Gold Coast style - alfresco!

While summer is the key season to visit, even a mid-winter getaway can warm summer bones and brighten the spirit. Avoid the gaudy tourist traps and enjoy the bright and fun atmosphere of what the locals prefer and make sure you take a dip in the surf.

From the kids reactions, Dreamworld is the best however Wet n\'wild is always a winner on a hot day. There is also less glitzy things if you drive into the Hinterlands and enjoy the knick knack shopping

A great area with so many great surf beaches and towns all down the coast. Surfer\'s is ok, but try to get away from the touristy bits. For a high-rise holiday this is the place, but definately stay away during schoolies...unless you are one
